Vick Update…

Published by bjobson at 11:38 am under Entertainment, Money & Finance, Politics Edit This

Whether you love him or you hate him, I’m sure you want to know the latest update on Mr.Michael Vick. Well here it is:

via HipHopBlog—

“Michael Vick has been dominating the sports headlines throughout the summer. Whether you think it’s fair or not, the man served his time and that’s all anybody can ask of him. Sure, he committed a crime, but nobody is perfect, so why can’t he get a chance at redemption?

Thankfully, few teams feel the same way. According to multiple sources, Mike Vick is very close to signing with a team, with as many as five NFL squads eyeing the quarterback. Vick’s new mentor, former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, told ESPN in a radio interview Tuesday, “I think something is gonna happen this week.” Those comments from Dungy only reemphasize those he uttered Sunday as an analyst for NBC’s broadcast of the Hall of Fame Game.

Joel Segal, Vick’s agent, also stated similar beliefs in an interview yesterday with Washington’s ESPN 980 radio show. Segal told the station, “I’m very optimistic. It’s not a matter of if, but when. And Mike’s excited with the opportunity that the commissioner has given him. He’s ready to go help a club win.”

Keep in mind, guys, about the conditional reinstatement that NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell placed on Vick that allows him to participate in his team’s final two preseason games if he’s signed, as well as his ruling on Vick’s regular season eligibility by Week 6 of the season.

We’re going to see if Tony Dungy and Joel Segal’s hunch proves right. The former Atlanta Falcon is said to be in very good football condition. Reports also indicate that Vick’s Monday interview with “NFL Today” anchor James Brown will air Sunday on the nationally-televised CBS show 60 Minutes. Hopefully, the 60 Minutes piece will give Vick some positive media exposure because, honestly, the videotaped encounter below with Young Jeezy that’s spreading around the internet could be interpreted as a bad PR move.”
