R.I.P To The Greatest Recording Artist Of All Time
R.I.P to the greatest recording artist of all time, in all genres, the king of not just Pop but Music….. Michael Jackson.
I got a text message from a friend today that said that Michael Jackson had passed awa, and i my immediate reaction was , “You have to be kidding me!!” So I went on Yahoo News and on the front page was an article about Mike being rushed to the hospital. Now I knew this was foreal. The reports are saying that he was in cardiac arrest and that he wasn’t breathin.
This might sound weird, but Michael Jackson in many people’s eyes was a person that you just could not see dieing. It’s as if he was going to live forever. That’s how special and great he was. He made unforgettable music videos that were great short films as well. Do you remember You Rock My World with Chris Tucker? One of his best dance moves was in this video in the fight scene. Classic!! This man made Thriller. THRILLER!!!!!!!!!!!! Thriller people……how can the man who made Thriller be gone? Unbelievable.
So many Michael Jackson trademarks have become popular classics through out time. For example: the red leather jacket, the jackets with all the zippers, the glove, the moon walk, the whipping kick that he always did, the “hee hee!”, the skipping walk he always did as he performed, etc. The man was a genious and the greatest to ever touch a microphone.
The Thriller album is the greatest selling album of all time. Mark my words, by this time next year, Michael Jackson album sales will have shot through the roof. If you didn’t have a Michael Jackson album before then I bet you get one now. Those people that had his album are going to go out and by more.
Without him….a lot of these artists that we listen to today wouldn’t even be in the music business…..so no matter how much people hate on Mike, you still have to give props to greatness when it is due. Pop music as an entire genre wouldn’t even be as big as it is now without him. There would be no Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, N-Sync, Backstreet Boys, Omarion, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Day 26, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, The Dream, Usher, Trey Songz, Beyonce, and the list goes on. Why would you even need choreography if it weren’t for Mike? The only reason why Pop and R&B artists needs choreography is because Mike set the standard and everyone else after him had to atleast try to uphold the standard. He was what they all strive or strived to be. How are you goign to have a music video without any dancing in it especially after Mike had such great choreography and moves in his videos and performances?
I wonder what could have caused this cardiac arrest that led to his death. I really do want to know. What’s so bad is that he had a tour coming up that was going to kick off next month in July. We all know that this was going to be one of the greatest tours ever; hands down.
Throughout all of his greatness and drama alike, people still forgot that he didn’t have the traditional child hood that most kids did. From the time he was 4 or 5 he was being bred to be a star and nothing less. His entire childhood was recording music, choreography, and performing. He didn’t play with toys or have normal friends that most kids would have. On top of that, his father was basically molding him into the greatness that we all know today. Even though Mike had a lot of negativity in his heart for his father and the beatings and punishment that he endured as a kid weighed heavily on him, without all of that negativity he had to go through as a kid he might not have been the great artist that he was. All those early years were what disciplined him and molded him into the best selling artist of all time. Mike didn’t say too many positive things about his childhood and upbringing but it’s obvious to see that it helped him tremendously.
It was wasy to see that he was a very lonely individual. The lack of childhood that he had mixed with the tremendous success made him stay to himself. He was misunderstood by most people and some could argue that he was misunderstood by himself as well. I don’t hink that he really knew how to have fun outside of music due to that lack of a child hood. He didn’t have many friends.
You never saw footage of Michael in public unless it was related to some sort of negative event that had him in the news again. You never saw photos of him out shopping, eating, driving, playing sports, or just hanging out. He kept to himself and barely came out of the confines of his Never Land Ranch. The best way i can describe Michael Jackson is simply the best.
On my to do list is a Michael Jackson music video compilation DVD.
