Final VIBE Cover + The Dream is Dating Christina Milian??

Published by bjobson under Entertainment Edit This

vibe.jpg

Look, I know I’m late but I wish someone would have informed me that Christina Milian was now dating The Dream. I thought she was still with the homey Dre from Cool N Dre. These two do not make a good looking couple if you ask me, but who am I to judge right? I saw a few pictures of them and I must say that I wasn’t impressed…lol.

Anyhow, Vibe magazine is going out of business and the final cover is said to have the couple half naked on the cover. OMG poeple!!!! Here is the cover for the final issue of the Vibe, and also a pic of the couple that made me laugh. That kiss looks uncomfortable; especially since The Dream has on what appears to be swimming trunks, shades, a fitted cap, expensice watch, and a scarf all at the same time! LMAO!! Who does that? Swimming trunks and a scarf? He’s trippin.

Lil Wayne, Drake, & Young Money’s Questionable Performance

Published by bjobson under Entertainment Edit This

drakewayne.jpg

I knew I wasn’t the only one who though that the Young Money performance on the BET Awards was a little strange. As i was watching i couldn’t help but notice that Drake was sitting down the whole time. They said later that he had a sprained ankle or a torn Achilles from playing basketball. Then of course there was the fact the Wayne and his crew performed a song that called for half as much bleeps as it is words in the song. Since it was a live show, a few of those bleeps didn’t catch every word. Last but not least was the fact that they were performing a song about “screwing” every girl in the world with a bunch of young girls on the stage with them. Seems a little questionable if you ask me.

Well here is what was reported by Sandra Rose—-
“I just heard from a source close to Tiny’s camp who informed me that the appearance of Tiny’s preteen group OMG onstage with rappers Lil Wayne and Drake at the BET Awards was neither planned nor rehearsed. My source said the group’s appearance onstage was a last minute decision by Wayne and no one else.According to my source, what happened was Wayne’s daughter Reginae, 9, was upset that she didn’t get the chance to accompany her father, Lil Wayne, to the stage to accept his award because she was sitting too far back in the audience.Once backstage, the youngster began to cry. And Wayne, who they say is a great dad, hated to see his little girl cry. So he told Reginae she could come out onstage during his performance with Drake. Reginae, being the team player that she is, asked the other members of her group to go out on stage with her.So there you have it.”

Did Michael Really Leave Joe out of His Will???

Published by bjobson under Entertainment, Politics Edit This

(RHE) By no surprise, Michael Jackson seemed to have forgotten to leave a portion of his estate to his mighty ‘ole father— Joe Jackson. So are we shocked???!!?!?! Ummmm, not really… any TRUE MJ fan knows the hellish childhood that Papa Joe put poor Michael through. According to reports, MiJac redid his will in 2002 and left everything to his three children and his dear old mother, Katherine Jackson–whom was granted guardianship custody over MJ’s children yesterday. Attorney John Branca has instructions from Michael to file his will and testament with the court 30-days after his death. MJ’s estate is reportedly worth an estimated one billion dollars. Hope Daddy Jackson makes the most of the publicity roaring around him now, because once the will comes to light –he gets NOTHING…. (via Egyptsaidso.com)

New Information about Michael’s Insomnia Could Have Answers

Published by bjobson under Uncategorized Edit This

This is a quoted article from the Associated Press by way of Yahoo! News.

267286.jpg

AP, Jun 30, 2009 6:36 pm PDT Michael Jackson was so distraught over persistent insomnia in recent months that he pleaded for a powerful sedative despite warnings it could be harmful, says a nutritionist who was working with the singer as he prepared his comeback bid.

Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse whose specialty includes nutritional counseling, said Tuesday that she repeatedly rejected his demands for the drug, Diprivan, which is given intravenously.

But a frantic phone call she received from Jackson four days before his death made her fear that he somehow obtained Diprivan or another drug to induce sleep, Lee said.

While in Florida on June 21, Lee was contacted by a member of Jackson’s staff.

“He called and was very frantic and said, `Michael needs to see you right away.’ I said, ‘What’s wrong?’ And I could hear Michael in the background …, ‘One side of my body is hot, it’s hot, and one side of my body is cold. It’s very cold,’” Lee said.

“I said, `Tell him he needs to go the hospital. I don’t know what’s going on, but he needs to go to the hospital … right away.”

“At that point, I knew that somebody had given him something that hit the central nervous system,” she said, adding, “He was in trouble Sunday and he was crying out.”

Jackson did not go to the hospital. He died June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest, his family said. Autopsies have been conducted, but an official cause of death is not expected for several weeks.

“I don’t know what happened there. The only thing I can say is he was adamant about this drug,” Lee said.

Following Jackson’s death, allegations emerged that the 50-year-old King of Pop had been consuming painkillers, sedatives and antidepressants. But Lee said she encountered a man tortured by sleep deprivation and one who expressed opposition to recreational drug use.

“He wasn’t looking to get high or feel good and sedated from drugs,” she said. “This was a person who was not on drugs. This was a person who was seeking help, desperately, to get some sleep, to get some rest.”

Jackson was rehearsing hard for what would have been his big comeback — his “This Is It” tour, a series of performances that would have strained his aging dancer’s body. Also, pain had been a part of his life since 1984, when his scalp was severely burned during a Pepsi commercial shoot.

Several months ago, Jackson had begun badgering Lee about Diprivan, also known as Propofol, Lee said. It is an intravenous anesthetic drug widely used in operating rooms to induce unconsciousness. It is generally given through an IV needle in the hand.

Patients given Propofol take less time to regain consciousness than those administered certain other drugs, and they report waking up more clear-headed and refreshed, said University of Chicago psychopharmacologist James Zacny.

It has also been implicated in drug abuse, with people using it to “chill out” or to commit suicide, Zacny said. Accidental deaths linked to abuse have been reported. The powerful drug has a very narrow therapeutic window, meaning it doesn’t take doses much larger than the medically recommended amount to stop a person’s breathing.

An overdose that stops breathing can result in a buildup of carbon dioxide, causing the heart to beat erratically and leading to cardiac arrest, said Dr. John Dombrowski, a member of the board of directors of the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Because it is given intravenously and is not the kind of prescription drug typically available from pharmacists, abuse cases have involved anesthesiologists, nurses and other hospital staffers with easy access to the drug, Zacny said.

In recent months, Lee said, Jackson waved away her warnings about it.

“I had an IV and when it hit my vein, I was sleeping. That’s what I want,” Lee said Jackson told her.

“I said, ‘Michael, the only problem with you taking this medication’ — and I had a chill in my body and tears in my eyes three months ago — ‘the only problem is you’re going to take it and you’re not going to wake up,” she recalled.

According to Lee, Jackson said it had been given to him before but he didn’t want to discuss the circumstances or identify the doctor involved.

The singer also drew his own distinctions when it came to drugs versus prescription medicine.

“He said, `I don’t like drugs. I don’t want any drugs. My doctor told me this is a safe medicine,’” Lee said. The next day, she said she brought a copy of the Physician’s Desk Reference to show him the section on Diprivan.

“He said, ‘No, my doctor said it’s safe. It works quick and it’s safe as long as somebody’s here to monitor me and wake me up. It’s going be OK,’” Lee said. She said he did not give the doctor’s name.

Lee said at one point, she spent the night with Jackson to monitor him while he slept. She said she gave him herbal remedies and stayed in a corner chair in his vast bedroom.

After he settled in bed, Lee told Jackson to turn down the lights and music — he had classical music playing in the house. “He also had a computer on the bed because he loved Walt Disney,” she said. “He was watching Donald Duck and it was ongoing. I said, `Maybe if we put on softer music,’ and he said, `No, this is how I go to sleep.’”

Three and a half hours later, Jackson jumped up and looked at Lee, eyes wide open, according to Lee. “This is what happens to me,” she quoted him as saying. “All I want is to be able to sleep. I want to be able to sleep eight hours. I know I’ll feel better the next day.”

Lee, 56, is licensed as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in California, according to the state Board of Registered Nursing’s Web site. She attended Los Angeles Southwest College and the Charles Drew University of Medicine and Sciences in Los Angeles.

Comedian Dick Gregory, who knows Lee and her work, said he believes Jackson’s insomnia had its roots in the pop star’s 2005 trial on child molestation charges. Jackson’s health had deteriorated so much that his parents called Gregory, a natural foods proponent, for help.

Gregory said Jackson wasn’t eating or drinking at the time and, after he was persuaded by Gregory to undergo testing, ended up hospitalized for severe dehydration.

But Jackson obviously was healthy enough to withstand the level of medical scrutiny needed to insure him for the upcoming high-stakes London concerts, Gregory said. “That you don’t trick,” he said of the exams.

Lee, who has also worked with Stevie Wonder, Marla Gibbs, Reynaldo Rey and other celebrities, said she was introduced to Jackson by the mother of one of his staff members. Jackson’s three children had minor cold symptoms and their pediatrician was out of town.

Lee said she went to the house in January, the first of about 10 visits there through April, and treated the children with vitamins. Michael, intrigued, asked what else she did and took her up on her claim she could boost his energy.

After running blood tests, she devised protein shakes for him and gave him an intravenous vitamin and mineral mixture — known as a “Myers cocktail,” after Dr. John Myers — which Lee said she uses routinely in her practice.

“It wasn’t that he felt sick,” she said. “He just wanted more energy.”

Lee said she decided to speak out to protect Jackson’s reputation from what she considers unfounded allegations of drug abuse or shortcomings as a parent.

“I think it’s so wrong for people to say these things about him,” she said. “He was a wonderful, loving father who wanted the best for his children.”

R.I.P Billy Mays

Published by bjobson under Entertainment Edit This

capt856cd44b928c42aa8ad30bdbcbe2b5aaobit_billy_mays_ny113.jpg I don’t know what is going on lately, but famous people are dropping like flies. First Farrah Fawcett, then Michael Jackson, and now Billy Mays all pass away in the same weekend. I’ve been told that death comes in 3’s and this seems to fit the bill. What’s so strange is that Mays and Jackson were both 50 and were both found unconscious by someone in their home.

Billy Mays is the well known TV pitchman from commercials such as Oxi Clean. Below is an excerpt of the story from the Associated Press:

-”Tampa police said Mays was found unresponsive by his wife Sunday morning. A fire rescue crew pronounced him dead at 7:45 a.m.

There were no signs of a break-in, and investigators do not suspect foul play, said Lt. Brian Dugan of the Tampa Police Department, who wouldn’t answer any more questions about how Mays’ body was found because of the ongoing investigation. The coroner’s office expects to have an autopsy done by Monday afternoon.

“Although Billy lived a public life, we don’t anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days,” said Mays’ wife, Deborah. “Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times.”

Tampa area media outlets reported that Mays was a passenger on a U.S. Airways flight that made a rough landing on Saturday afternoon at Tampa International Airport, apparently blowing its front tires in an incident that left debris on the runway.

Tampa Bay’s Fox television affiliate interviewed Mays after the incident.

“All of a sudden as we hit you know it was just the hardest hit, all the things from the ceiling started dropping,” MyFox Tampa Bay quoted him as saying. “It hit me on the head, but I got a hard head.”

U.S. Airways officials said Sunday they could not immediately confirm that Mays was a passenger.

Born William Mays in McKees Rocks, Pa., on July 20, 1958, Mays developed his style demonstrating knives, mops and other “as seen on TV” gadgets on Atlantic City’s boardwalk. For years he worked as a hired gun on the state fair and home show circuits, attracting crowds with his booming voice and genial manner.

After meeting Orange Glo International founder Max Appel at a home show in Pittsburgh in the mid-1990s, Mays was recruited to demonstrate the environmentally friendly line of cleaning products on the St. Petersburg-based Home Shopping Network.

Commercials and informercials followed, anchored by the high-energy Mays showing how it’s done while tossing out kitschy phrases like, “Long live your laundry!”

Recently he’s been seen on commercials for a wide variety of products and is featured on the reality TV show “Pitchmen” on the Discovery Channel, which follows Mays and Anthony Sullivan in their marketing jobs. He’s also been seen in ESPN ads.

His ubiquitousness and thumbs-up, in-your-face pitches won Mays plenty of fans. People line up at his personal appearances for autographed color glossies, and strangers stop him in airports to chat about the products.

“I enjoy what I do,” Mays told The Associated Press in a 2002 interview. “I think it shows.”

Mays liked to tell the story of giving bottles of OxiClean to the 300 guests at his wedding, and doing his ad spiel (”powered by the air we breathe!”) on the dance floor at the reception. Visitors to his house typically got bottles of cleaner and housekeeping tips.

Discovery Channel spokeswoman Elizabeth Hillman released a statement Sunday extending sympathy to the Mays family.

“Everyone that knows him was aware of his larger-than-life personality, generosity and warmth,” Hillman’s statement said. “Billy was a pioneer in his field and helped many people fulfill their dreams. He will be greatly missed as a loyal and compassionate friend.”

R.I.P To The Greatest Recording Artist Of All Time

Published by bjobson under Entertainment Edit This

R.I.P to the greatest recording artist of all time, in all genres, the king of not just Pop but Music….. Michael Jackson.

I got a text message from a friend today that said that Michael Jackson had passed awa, and i my immediate reaction was , “You have to be kidding me!!” So I went on Yahoo News and on the front page was an article about Mike being rushed to the hospital. Now I knew this was foreal. The reports are saying that he was in cardiac arrest and that he wasn’t breathin.

This might sound weird, but Michael Jackson in many people’s eyes was a person that you just could not see dieing. It’s as if he was going to live forever.  That’s how special and great he was. He made unforgettable music videos that were great short films as well. Do you remember You Rock My World  with Chris Tucker? One of his best dance moves was in this video in the fight scene. Classic!! This man made Thriller. THRILLER!!!!!!!!!!!! Thriller people……how can the man who made Thriller be gone? Unbelievable.

So many Michael Jackson trademarks have become popular classics through out time. For example: the red leather jacket, the jackets with all the zippers, the glove, the moon walk, the whipping kick that he always did, the “hee hee!”,  the skipping walk he always did as he performed, etc. The man was a genious and the greatest to ever touch a microphone.

The Thriller album is the greatest selling album of all time. Mark my words, by this time next year, Michael Jackson album sales will have shot through the roof. If you didn’t have a Michael Jackson album before then I bet you get one now. Those people that had his album are going to go out and by more.

Without him….a lot of these artists that we listen to today wouldn’t even be in the music business…..so no matter how much people hate on Mike, you still have to give props to greatness when it is due. Pop music as an entire genre wouldn’t even be as big as it is now without him. There would be no Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, N-Sync, Backstreet Boys, Omarion, Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake, Day 26, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, The Dream, Usher, Trey Songz, Beyonce, and the list goes on. Why would you even need choreography if it weren’t for Mike? The only reason why Pop and R&B artists needs choreography is because Mike set the standard and everyone else after him had to atleast try to uphold the standard. He was what they all strive or strived to be. How are you goign to have a music video without any dancing in it especially after Mike had such great choreography and moves in his videos and performances?

I wonder what could have caused  this cardiac arrest that led to his death. I really do want to know. What’s so bad is that he had a tour coming up that was going to kick off next month in July. We all know that this was going to be one of the greatest tours ever; hands down.

Throughout all of his greatness and drama alike, people still forgot that he didn’t have the traditional child hood that most kids did. From the time he was 4 or 5 he was being bred to be a star and nothing less. His entire childhood was recording music, choreography, and performing. He didn’t play with toys or have normal friends that most kids would have. On top of that, his father was basically molding him into the greatness that we all know today. Even though Mike had a lot of negativity in his heart for his father and the beatings and punishment that he endured as a kid weighed heavily on him, without all of that negativity he had to go through as a kid he might not have been the great artist that he was. All those early years were what disciplined him and molded him into the best selling artist of all time. Mike didn’t say too many positive things about his childhood and upbringing but it’s obvious to see that it helped him tremendously.

It was wasy to see that he was a very lonely individual. The lack of childhood that he had mixed with the tremendous success made him stay to himself. He was misunderstood by most people and some could argue that he was misunderstood by himself as well. I don’t hink that he really knew how to have fun outside of music due to that lack of a child hood. He didn’t have many friends.

You never saw footage of Michael in public unless it was related to some sort of negative event that had him in the news again. You never saw photos of him out shopping, eating, driving, playing sports, or just hanging out. He kept to himself and barely came out of the confines of his Never Land Ranch. The best way i can describe Michael Jackson is simply the best.

On my to do list is a Michael Jackson music video compilation DVD.

Why Is It So Hard??? (PAUSE!!)

Just a quick thought from ya boy. Why is it so hard to promote yourself? Everybody that’s in the industry always says that you have to promote yourself and get heard. That’s the best way too put yourself out there. Well if that’s the case then how come whenever I get on my job and start promoting myself i get shot down by industry cats? The same industry cats that said you need to promote in the place. Everywhere you go on the net to try to pump yourself, you got people and websites that shun you if you try to promote yourself.

How the hell is somebody supposed to get heard then? Somebody answer me that riddle because I would love to know your answer. Seems to me as if it’s damn near impossible to promote yourself efficiently by yourself.

Spam? Cats is throwing around the word spam like its salt and pepper or something. Just because I say “Hey, If you need beats check me out” or “Download this hot track”, y’all want to call that spamming. That’s not spamming; that’s good, solid, old-fashioned gorilla marketing.

So I guess the only thing for a hungry cat to do is sit down and shut-up and never get heard huh???
That’s BULL!!!!!!
