What’s Up With Job Interviews?

Published by bjobson at 11:23 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Sip On This! I don’t know about you all, but I’m sick and tired of the same routine in every job interview. It’s always the same thing over and over. The only difference is that the questions that they ask you off of their little sheet that they already had prepared for them are different every time. Which brings me to my first point………

Why does the person or persons that interview you ask these non sense questions. Every thing that they ask you is a trick question. What you think was a good answer ends up being the opposite of what they were looking for. I hate when i’m asked a question that the person tries to gear towards you directly and how “you” would handle the situation. When the right answer to the question had nothing to do with you directly handling the situation, but what steps you should take that correlates to their policies. How the heck are you supposed to know their policies if you’re not an employee?? The worse questions are the ones where they ask you what are your top 5 traits or what are three characteristics that you think are necessary for the position you applied for? Dude……what kind of stupid question is that? If they ask you and three other people to name the top 5 characteristics that describe you i gaurantee that they will get a different set of answers every time. No one really knows their best characteristics better than the poeple that are around this person every day. Everybody is going to lie and say a bunch of great things about themself. Duuuhhhhh!!!!

Which brings me to my second point. Who tells the complete truth on any job application or in any interview anyway? I know who……NOBODY that’s who! Every one on your staff is a bunch of liars. Why would someone tell you the honest truth about themself and risk not getting considered for the position? Well here’s what i’m going to do: I’m going to go apply for a job and tell the dead honest truth and see if i get a call back. Now if I make it to the interview process then I will continue to tell them dead honest truth and see what happens from there. If i can get a spy camera attached to my shirt collar or get some spy glasses then I willl record this and post the video. I’m sure the interviewers will have some wild expressions and reactions once they hear my answers.

When is someone going to step outside the box and have a more realistic and logical job interview? Do something that catches the applicant off guard so you can really gauge this person. College students are tought how to work an interview so when you come with that basic interview process like everybody else they already know what’s coming and your stupid a** falls for it and gives the wrong person the job. Shame! Well, if you try something outside the box then that poor college student won’t have the slightest idea on what to do. They didn’t teach you that in leisure studies now did they? LOL!!

By the way.  experience is over rated. I think it’s completely unfair for a college student or college grad to get overlooked for an entry level job that only requires someone to have a high school diploma or GED simply because they don’t have enough prior experience in that particular job. FIRST OF ALL, how the heck can they get the experience if no one wants to give them a chance? SECOND, just because someone worked in a similar position before doesn’t automatically mean that person is a better fit than thet guy that doesn’t. Mr. I Have Experience over there might have been a bad employee at his last job, but you wouldn’t know this because he probably lied his way through the application and interview anyway.

SIP ON THAT!!!!!
